A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A Song.
1 His foundation is in the holy mountains.
2 The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
3 Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God! Selah
4 “I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to those who know Me; behold, O Philistia and Tyre, with Ethiopia: ‘This one was born there.’ “
5 And of Zion it will be said, “This one and that one were born in her; and the Most High Himself shall establish her.”
6 The LORD will record, when He registers the peoples: “This one was born there.” Selah
7 Both the singers and the players on instruments say, “All my springs are in you.”
It’s not uncommon to be proud of where you’re from. Everyone knows that Will Smith is “West Philadelphia, born and raised”, or that the Blues Brothers are from “Sweet Home Chicago”. If you want to check for any native Australians nearby simply yell “Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!” and listen for the “Oi! Oi! Oi!” response. But, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, old things are passed away and all things are new. That means you are not from Omaha, or Philly, or Chicago, you are from Heaven. You are out there “Repping” the city of God. People are saying about you, “This one is from God” Try to live your day so that tomorrow’s headline in the New Jerusalem Gazette reads “Local Boy (or Girl) Makes Good”.
