A Psalm of Thanksgiving
1 Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands!
2 Serve the LORD with gladness; come before His presence with singing.
3 Know that the LORD, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.
Picture you have a dog, the dog knows the sound of your car, and the sound of your footsteps coming to the door. They start happy barking, and their tail is just a blur at this point. You open the door and step inside and instantly know what love feels like.
Now picture you are a father with young children and as you approach the door you can hear it start, “Daddy’s home! Daddy’s home! Daddy’s home!” You step inside and they attack you with the hugs, and the kisses, and the “I made this for you at school!” What will you not do for these kids?
This is God when we praise Him with abandon, so make that joyful noise!
