Psalm 131

A Song of Ascents. Of David.

1 LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty.  Neither do I concern myself with great matters, nor with things too profound for me.

2 Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.

3 O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forever.

Little kids don’t worry about how their parents take care of stuff, they just know they do.  This can be frustrating for parents when the kids ask for designer stuff without considering how much overtime mom or dad has to put in to pay for it.  But here’s the thing, God already has everything, no overtime is required on His part, the only thing that matters is our faith and willingness to trust that His plan and His timing is perfect.  We demonstrate this by learning to be sensitive to His voice, by obeying what His voice tells us, and by constantly drawing near to His presence.  So grab your binky, your night-night, and your stuffed plushie, and take a Holy Spirit nappy time.
