A Psalm of Ascents
1 Behold, bless the LORD, all you servants of the LORD, who by night stand in the house of the LORD!
2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.
3 The LORD who made heaven and earth bless you from Zion!
So here we are on the last Psalm of Ascent, what have we learned about this journey that we are on. We are our own worst enemy. We are creatures of doubt, anger, and pettiness. It’s part of the curse of sinful people living in a sinful world, but when we call out for help from God, the only one who can help, He will provide our rescue. He will lead us to who we were meant to be. We won’t always understand what He’s doing, even less why He’s doing it, but we don’t need to understand, we just need to know that He loves us and it is all for our benefit. We can’t do it ourselves; we have to let Him do it in His time. Like building a house, there must first be a foundation, and it has to be set properly before you try to start nailing things to it. This is why it is so important for us to draw in and stay close to the Master Architect. We will make mistakes along the way and there will be consequences for those mistakes, but everything and everyone is redeemable in God’s perfect time. So learn to enjoy and trust the trials as they come, for they only come for your betterment. And one day you will stand face to face before God Himself in His Holy Sanctuary, side by side with all of the friends who have shared your journey. On that day He will give you the ultimate honor that any created being can ever receive. He will call you by name and tell you, “Well done.” At that moment, you will join with your brothers and sisters from all across the entirety of time and space and return the honor back to Him and Bless the LORD.
